Best Resiliency Practices in Economic Development

Best Resiliency Practices” (2011) was developed to illustrate reasonable and appropriate practices undertaken by regional economic development districts to support the resiliency and/or relief and recovery activities following disaster or other significant events, such as severe tropical weather and coastal catastrophes.

Support by Planning Districts is given for local government members. Planning Districts function as a convener and liaison between hard-hit communities and their leaders who have experienced direct impact from a disaster and those State and Federal or other agencies attempting to provide relief. Often, this is in the form of coordination or collaboration by District Staff with area non-profit and other relief/response agencies.
