Louisiana Economic Development’s Lantern Awards provide an opportunity to salute manufacturers from each district for their outstanding contributions to the Louisiana economy and to their communities. Anyone may nominate a manufacturer.
Recipients of the awards are selected on the basis of their contributions over a period of time to the betterment of their communities, growth in the number of employees and expansion of their facilities. Each demonstrates staying power by remaining in operation at least three years.
A recipient from each planning district will be selected for recognition during a reception at the Governor’s Mansion and will be presented a custom-built, hand crafted copper Lantern constructed with Louisiana cypress by Bevolo Gas and Electric Lights of New Orleans. The Lanterns received by the manufacturers symbolize leadership, dedication and commitment to excellence.
